: : Magenta : :

In my attempt to make Steph FAT on the night that we went to bing!, we went for desserts at Magenta located at Jalan Nenas (Pineapple Road). The temptation for creme brullee was just too much although, mind you, I've never tasted a creme brullee that is defined as excellent in another person's eye/mind/tongue. So, I decided to take the globe-trotter to taste some.

We decided to have a slice of mango cheesecake to go with the creme brulle. Both were satisfactory although the cheesecake was a bit cheesy and the creme brulle a bit creamy. Still, we polished it all off with a bottle of red wine. Think it was a bottle of Merlot.

As the night went on, we ordered some fries to just tie us over until it was time to bedtime. This is the little kiddy portion.

I thought that there was some lemon pieces in my glass of water but it turned out to be just ice shavings. Talk about being tipsy. Then again, this was even before I had a bottle of wine! I'm pathetic, I know.

We also had an elderly feline hostess(?, could be host) who kept us company for awhile.

Well, that wraps up the night that we first started off with bing! and ended up at Magenta instead. Good conclusion for the nite.

Oh wait a min. After that we went to Seattle Coffee to get rid of the sweet taste in our mouths. Suffice to say that I left my camera in the car, hence no pictures. :p

Wena, next time, red wine does not go too wll with desserts, try Muscato or Muscat. You can get muscato at the wine store behind Skybook store or the bookstore at ground floor by that tall building near the municipal swimming pool.

now that sounded a bit conscending, doesn't it? only a wine enthusiast would have been extremely ticked off by what steph and I did. LOL!

actually, both of us didn't feel like ordering any sweet dessert wines so we went for something less sweet.

having said that, we were happy being the ignorant peasants.

I have never been a muscat fan. That stuff rots your teeth :) Certainly, those desserts weren't going to great with wine, but at the same time, Magenta was pretty limited in terms of dessert choices and they weren't groundbreaking. In any case, most of the wine was consumed quite a while after the desserts were gone ;) That wasn't the point though. I think Wena wanted to test my liver :P

Ah you're finally eating good food again. No more of that Atkin's nonsense. It seems that everyone here in the U.S. has been on the Atkin's diet.

Anyhow, the dessert looks delicious.

Nah, everyone have their own taste. Muscato was just a suggestion, to me chilled muscato is the least sweet among the dessert wine, reminds me of Lychee.
